This is a question that many people who want to enter this field often ask. The direct answer is: It's not difficult to get started, but it's not easy to master.

The difficulty of operation is divided into three levels.

The first level: As an operator (1-3 months)

If you just want to press the start button, load and unload the workpiece, and measure the dimensions, you can master it in a few months. Many factory operators with only junior high school education can do a good job. All you need to do is: clamp the workpiece, set the tool, adjust the program, and use measuring tools.

The second level: Independent debugging and programming (1-3 years)

Want to write your own programs, select the tools, and set the parameters? The difficulty increases. You need to understand G codes, understand the process, and know how to machine different materials. Cutting aluminum smoothly is one thing, but with the same parameters on stainless steel, it might directly burn the tool. At this stage, it relies on experience and intuition.

The third level: Proficiency and optimization (3-10 years)

Five-axis linkage, high-speed cutting, reducing the time for a two-hour job to 1.5 hours while maintaining accuracy - this requires a lot of trial and error accumulation. Why is it difficult? Because the cost of making a mistake is too high. Pressing the wrong key, and the spindle is ruined, losing tens of thousands of yuan.

What do beginners fear the most?

Not the code being difficult to write, but confusing the coordinate system, inputting the compensation value wrongly, and not knowing what to do before pressing the start button. Good news is: The current CNC systems are becoming increasingly "dumb", many operations have graphical guidance, which is much better than the machines from a few decades ago.
